HIS MASSAGE IN 3 WORDS | Consistent, thorough, tranquilizing

When I was a kid, my mom asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I told her, "I want to be a wizard!" She would also have me rub her sore back after a long day at an early age. Massage became a normal part of my life. It led to me joining in on massage circles with friends at lunch in high school. As I matured into adulthood, my curious nature and thirst for knowledge wanted more.
In 2009, I discovered Irene's Myomassology Institute. Upon entering its doors, I knew that this is where I wanted to be. I excelled through the course and 12 months later, I was official after all of these years. Except, I was also advancing in the restaurant industry - where I would remain for 6 years as a general manager - until an opportunity for to work in a spa arose. Weighing my options, I felt that a job with less stress would be better. It turned out to be one of the best decisions of my life.
After spending nearly two years at the spa, I got to work on many different bodies and experience an array of medical conditions and injuries. I specialized in deep tissue work and quickly became one of the most requested therapists there until I decided to break out on my own. That's when Element Massage was born.
Since May 2015, I have been exclusively treating clients to not only deep relaxation, but therapeutic bodywork. Element Massage was inspired by the wonders of nature and the healing powers that it contains. I wanted to harness it and channel it in a creative way. One of the most frequent compliments that I am given by my clients is that my hands are magic. Turns out...I grew up to be a wizard after all.

THEIR MASSAGE IN 3 WORDS | Intricate, healing, serene

Practicing massage was never something that I imagined myself doing. In fact, when I was young, I had no vision of wanting to do anything other than stay in the woods as long as I could, exploring hidden paths, and finding wisps of magic in the sun dappled paths. This dream never left me and, at 19, I tried to attain it.
I left on my bicycle one cold morning in November, determined to be a traveler and see the country. My pack trailing behind me, I had never been so afraid. This was the first of a series of misadventures that continued to land me back home over the years, until I realized I needed to grow my skills and be able to provide for myself more easily. After trials ranging from Hawaii to Arizona, I was finally in college.
Before going to school for massage, I studied art education at LCC and MSU for one year each. I made friends and art, both of them reflecting and nourishing my sense of what I found in the forest long ago. Something about the structure of the education system made me feel unsettled so, with a leap of faith, I changed course. I enrolled at LCC and joined the massage program! During my studies and years of travels past, I learned a lot:
about myself, what was important to me, service and humility. That was the path that finally led me to understand the sensation of peace, self love, and playfulness that I had been chasing for so long.
By the end of my time at LCC, I had become devoted to goodness, helping others, and sharing that wordless element of spirituality with those that I could. It turned out that massage was a really good way to do that. Creating space for healing, deep relaxation, and self acceptance for people wound up becoming a real passion for me. That is what I aim to bring to every session, a place where people can heal and rest deeply; and maybe, catch a glimpse of the universe smiling at them. While my desire to travel has not left, for now I am very glad to be here. And, for the first time, I'm really investing in where I am today!
