Staggered Reopening Starting In July!
Element Massage is preparing to open it's doors again next month! In the interest of safety for clients and therapists alike, the process will be tapered - starting out with limited hours and appointments each week. As we further progress through the pandemic, we will be monitoring the COVID-19 cases in the state to make sure that we are on track. From there, we can assess whether we can take more clients the following week. The first several weeks of July are reserved for those rescheduling, as many appointments had to be cancelled before closing. (If you had an appointment cancelled before the pandemic, you should have received a text message on 6/16 to set up a new appointment.) Element Massage is booking new appointments starting on the last week of July but spaces are limited and will fill up quickly.
Additionally, we wanted to share some of the new practices that we will be implementing in order to decrease the risk of spreading the coronavirus. Being that we have windowless treatment rooms, I have to take all the precautions that are available to me. Some examples are:
New intake forms that are filled out online to update each client's health information
Prescreening clients for illness and recent contact with people diagnosed with COVID-19
Checking temperatures before with a no-touch thermometer
Requiring masks to be worn, except when laying down in to the converted face covered
Extra cleaning time in between clients of the treatment room and high traffic areas
Meticulous handwashing with sanitizer available around the office
No rescheduling penalties if you need to cancel an appointment due to illness
Restricted rebooking to a monthly basis so the 14 day incubation period can be observed
Massage is something that surely we all could use right now - whether it is to calm your worries, help you manage your body or lessening the aches you have from sitting down for 3 months. But in order for it to be offered, it has to evolve with the changing times. A lot is unknown still and it's hard to discern information these days, but undoubtedly there are increased risks when receiving massage right now. We look forward to being able to help you with your goals while it is at the mercy of a combined effort. We will do our best to create a clean and safe environment to help your body, mind and spirit.
If you have any further questions on booking or the precautions, please feel free to call or text. Be well and we will see you next month!

COLTON JAMES HUGHES
When I was a kid, my mom asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I told her, "I want to be a wizard!" She would also have me rub her sore back after a long day at an early age. Massage became a normal part of my life. It led to me joining in on massage circles with friends at lunch in high school. As I matured into adulthood, my curious nature and thirst for knowledge wanted more.
In 2009, I found Irene's Myomassology Institute. Upon entering its doors, I knew that this is where I wanted to be. I excelled through the course and 12 months later, I was official after all of these years. Except, I was also advancing in the restaurant industry - where I would remain for 6 years as a general manager - until an opportunity for to work in a spa arose. Weighing my options, I felt that a job with less stress would be better. It turned out to be one of the best decisions of my life.
After spending nearly two years at the spa, I got to work on many different bodies and experience an array of medical conditions and injuries. I specialized in deep tissue work and quickly became one of the most requested therapists there until I decided to break out on my own. That's when Element Massage was born.
Since March 2016, I have been exclusively treating clients to not only deep relaxation, but therapeutic bodywork. Element Massage was inspired by the wonders of nature and the healing powers that it contains. I wanted to harness it and channel it in a creative way. One of the most frequent compliments that I am given by my clients is that my hands are magic. Turns out...I grew up to be a wizard after all.
THE WORD AROUND TOWN
"It was clear to me he loves what he does and enjoys taking care of others. He is easy going, a good listener, asks the important questions, and is very professional.
Colton has magical hands! Not only was he able to work out the problem areas I noticed, but he found things I didn't!
The atmosphere was very calming. Colton is very professional; He is also very educated/passionate on massage therapy and it really shows.
